ETA taxpayer registration and Client ID / Secret
How to register your ERP on the Egyptian Tax Authority portal, obtain Client ID and Client Secret for Preprod or Prod, and paste them into Fatoora Settings.
Fatoora does not issue ETA credentials. You obtain them from the Egyptian Tax Authority as a registered taxpayer system (ERP), then paste them into
Fatoora Settings.
What you need from ETA
- A taxpayer profile on the ETA invoicing portal
- An ERP / system registration that yields Client ID and Client Secret
- A USB token certificate (Egypt Trust / equivalent) for signing
- Clarity whether you are on Preprod or Prod (different hosts — never mix)
Official ETA documentation
Start from the SDK home and taxpayer-system login guide:
Register your ERP (high level)
On the ETA portal for your environment, complete taxpayer onboarding and Register ERP (wording may vary by portal version). Capture Client ID and Client Secret when shown — secrets are often displayed once. Store them securely.
Preprod vs Prod in
Fatoora
In Settings → environment choose `preprod` or `prod`. Fatoora then uses:
- Preprod identity: `https://id.preprod.eta.gov.eg/connect/token`
- Preprod API: `https://api.preprod.invoicing.eta.gov.eg`
- Preprod portal: `https://preprod.invoicing.eta.gov.eg`
- Prod identity: `https://id.eta.gov.eg/connect/token`
- Prod API: `https://api.invoicing.eta.gov.eg`
- Prod portal: `https://invoicing.eta.gov.eg`
Use Preprod credentials only with Preprod, and Prod credentials only with Prod.
Paste into
Fatoora
Open `/t/{your-slug}/settings` as OWNER or ADMIN:
- Set preprod | prod
- Paste Client ID
- Paste ETA Client Secret (leave blank later to keep the stored secret)
- Fill issuer TIN, legal name, activity code, branch, address
- Click Save settings
- Click Test ETA login
Success looks like: `OK — {expiresIn}s (preprod|prod)`. Failure means wrong secret, wrong environment, or ETA registration not ready.
After credentials work
Continue with Configure Settings for numbering and signer URL, then USB signer.
